On April 27, 1983, Cassie's mom says she was "born dancing" and she hasn't stopped wiggling since! (It used to drive her big sister crazy!) She started dancing "officially" at the age of 4. From then on she was at Jill Johnson's Dance Studio in Santa Paula several days a week taking jazz, tap, ballet, and occasionally lyrical and hip hop. Cassie often remarks that Jill helped to "raise" her.

In high school Cassie became a cheerleader and eventually a song leader. She really enjoyed her senior year when she dressed up as a big red Cardinal bird and danced around as the mascot!

Cassie went to college at UC San Diego, and then earned her teaching credential at San Diego State University. Meanwhile, she fell in love with a boy named Jeffrey Lawhead. After college she married and moved to Burbank, CA and taught 6th grade math and science for 5 years.

Recently Jeff and Cassie moved back to Ventura County. She now teachers 7th grade math and science at Anacapa Middle School.
